Our classroom is nestled right in our own little corner of Pod 5 in Newington Elementary School. Please feel welcome to stop by and say hello, or come and see what your child is doing during the day.

We have a strong sense of community in our classroom. As you walk in, you’ll notice our Class Charter with every student’s signature. This is a promise we make to ourselves and to each other the first day of school to be responsible, respectful, and ready, and to try our personal best at all times. With this in our minds, it makes it much easier to have fun and productive school days!

We have lots of fun and educational things going on too!

*We love our class pets: two baby rats named KC and JoJo. On Fridays if we’re good, we get to pet them! 

*Each of us has a classroom job that changes every week. This allows us to accept responsibility for an important task in our room, and teaches us that it takes everyone doing their part to keep a community running smoothly.

*Technology is key at Newington, and you can catch us everyday learning on the Smartboard, utilizing our classroom Senteos, or honing our math and language arts skills with Compass on our classroom set of laptops!

*Our classroom library is packed full of great books! Color coded by AR level, and labeled by genre, it is easy to find a book that suits our needs. And boy, do we love reading time!!
